Luke 18:13   `God, be merciful to me, a sinner.'  In our legal system we can plead, 'Not Guilty" -wasn't me- "No contest - "yes, Idid it. but there were circumstances beyond my control - or "Guilty_ Yes, it was me.  Only our guilty plea -"God, be merciful to me - is the plea that unlocks God's mercy.  The others says, :"It wasn't my fault" and tries to move responsibility from us. Only when we accept that responsibility can we have mercy from God.
